Unit 2: Pre-production Techniques
Understanding the requirements for production
Definition:
Resources are a stock or supply of money, materials, staff and other assets that can be drawn on by a person or organisation in order to function effectively.
Used for:
I needed to use resources in all of my radio units as they allowed me to achieve professional standard projects. For my production Units research allowed me to create and produce the tasks to a high standard and abled me to function the projects effectively. Resources allow the media industry to develop and without certain resources we would have no media entity. I needed resources to achieve near-professional standard work.
Type of research and unit:
Definition:
Codes of practice and regulations are a series of codes, developed in partnership that should be adhered to when undertaking work.
Used for:
Codes and conventions were used in my work to ensure a full understanding of the regulations of my productions and to understand the limits we can reach in the productions. In unit 44 the codes have been used to help me produce work which does not break any of the OFCOM rules. I specifically had to make a radio advertisement which broke the codes and conventions of OFCOM, it gave me an insight into why we should not break the codes, and what was acceptable in a production. These types of codes are brought into society as to not offend any member of the public, they allow a sense of secure viewing and therefore are highly needed.
Type of research and unit:
Definiton:
Equipment is the necessary items for a particular purpose
Used for:
Equipment was always needed throughout my units. It allowed me to be resourceful and produce quality peices of work which were successful. With the high standard pieces of equipment i have been able to create some professional standard peices of work. Equipment, much like resources allows a production to run, without equipment we would not have a production, and therefore would not have anything to work with, i.e voice footage, editing resources, client briefing etc.
Type of research and unit:
All units
Definiton:
Personnel are the people employed in an organization or engaged in an organized.
